Overview

Purpose

This site provides a research primer for University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa students interested in Art Deco in Europe and the United States during the 1920s–1930s. The resources are selected for their discussion of the style in general by credible art critics and historians, their pertinence to the graphic design aspect of the movement, and the presence of historically relevant visual examples. Resources include fiction, nonfiction, reference, and open-source electronic books, subscription databases, journal and periodical articles, websites, blogs, podcasts, and organizations.

 

Target Audience

This pathfinder serves students at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa who can access Hamilton Library. It would be most useful to students majoring in graphic design and/or the visual arts.
